Living Nativity

Living nativity cast crossing the street

The family of believers at Third Baptist Church expressed the joy of the season by putting on a Living Nativity display. It was a reminder that Christmas is a time to remember and celebrate the greatest birth in history.

The food

Each year we use this opportunity to reach the lost and share some refreshments with those who stop by.

Cotton candy on the face

Cotton candy has many uses. If you get tired of eating it you can always wear it.

The guys just sitting by the fire

There was a nice warm fire for anyone who wanted to sit and enjoy the day.

Pastor Rich shares the Gospel

Pastor Rich shared the Gospel with as many people as he could while his son slept peaceful in his lap.

The teens hand out tracts

The main purpose of the Living Nativity was to reach the lost. The teens of Third Baptist Church handed out tracts and candy canes to people who stopped at the intersection near the church. Last year we handed out over 3,000.

Shepherds
Shepherds

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night." - Luke 2:8

Angels with the shepherds

"And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid." - Luke 2:9

Behold I bring you good tidings

"Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'" - Luke 2:10,11

Jesus in a manger

"And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” - Luke 2:12

Waving goodby till next year

We may never know how many seeds we planted that day. We just need to be faithful and obedient and let God do the rest. Don't forget the reason for the season: it's not Santa or Buddha or Mohammed. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior of the world.
