When you give your life to Christ you give up precious little and gain so very much. You enter into a whole new world of opportunity, peace, love and joy. You gain millions of brothers and sisters all united by their faith in Jesus. Living the Christian life is the most exciting choice you could make. The family at Third Baptist Church would like to share some of that excitement with you.

50 Plus for September, 2010

This time we went to one of Fall River's greatest tourist attractions: Battle Ship Cove at Heritage Park. The Cove is home to the U.S.S. Massachusetts and other warships of the World War II era. These ships are reminders of the brave men and women who fought to keep the world free. The park is also the final home of the fully restored Crescent Park Carrousel. Having our fellowship at the carrousel brought back found memories and made for one of our best outings.

Steve and friends

The theme for September was Portuguese food and culture. Not to unusual for a city that has the highest percentage of Portuguese people in the country.

Steve announces the prizes

Steve cut loose and enthusiastically announced the winners of this months contests for food and costume.

Gale gets best dish prize

Gale gets prize for best Portuguese dish. Not sure what it was called, but I called it delicious.

Best costume prize
Talest person prize

There were several other prizes like best costume and tallest person award. I think Steve gets the prize for the person who had the most fun.
